Chemical Name: Sodium Hypochloridet

Chemical Formula: ClONa

Packaging Type: Drum, IBC, Tanker

Definition and Areas of Use:

Sodium hypochlorite is a type of chemical compound, generally used as a bleach and disinfectant, also known among the people as bleach or hypo. The effective chlorine ratio of hypochlorite is around 15-16%. It is used in the production of bleach, in water chlorination and purification systems, as a disinfectant, and as a bleach in textiles.

Its area of use is very widespread and it is a very good disinfectant. Sodium Hypochlorite is a clean greenish yellow chemical in liquid/fluid form and has a strong chlorine odor in its aqueous solution. It is mostly traded (storage, shipment) in the form of an aqueous solution with an effective chlorine ratio of 15-16%. Its aqueous solution is called liquid/fluid chlorine, bleach, hypo, bleach, javel water, cleaning agent. Its aqueous solution is watery and greenish yellow. Caution should be taken during use and compatible equipment should be used. Its method is NaClO. Sodium Hypochlorite is mostly used for disinfectant in water and as a bleaching agent in different sectors. It is used in bleach production, (water conditioning) water and wastewater treatment, textile (bleaching processes), chlorination of water, and as a disinfectant in the paper industry. The technical (specific) properties of Sodium Hypochlorite are given in the table below. Sodium Hypochlorite [pH8.5 value] is produced in modern electrolyzers as standard 8 gpl by using Water, Salt and Current where necessary. Titanium anode and cathode are produced with constant efficiency by coating the titanium anodes with precious metal oxide catalysts and the product is stored for use. Hypochlorite produced is 10 times faster and more effective than concentrated hypochlorite due to low pH8.5. It does not contain low cost and damaging chlorine compounds. During the disinfection of gas chlorine and water, harmful and carcinogenic by-products are not produced, It is fast and effective due to low pH8.5. It is used in bleaching water in daily life. The contact of acid with a working tissue causes damage to the tissues. This substance, which causes a huge loss to the environment, is produced by combining with chlorine and sodium hydroxide in soaps in room conditions.
