Areas of Use:

Sodium sulfate is a neutral salt and can be obtained in solid form in mineral deposits and chemical by-products in lakes with bitter and salty water. Natural sodium sulfate does not contain any zinc, arsenic, lead and chromium as well as other heavy metals and toxic minerals. Sodium sulfate is preferred as an additive in many sectors in the production of suitable products, both naturally and synthetically. It is found in sodium sulfate (Na2SO4) compounds that are present in nature.

Sodium sulphate, in this way, is ready for use after the solid form of sodium sulphate is processed and evaluated in the dissolved liquids and other raw materials of the ores. Especially in the sectors, sodium sulphate, which is used as the main ingredient, is preferred because it is a neutral salt. The reason why sodium sulphate has a usable feature in the industry in general is that it is used because it is not similar to other water-soluble substances.

Generally, sodium sulphate is supplied from completely natural sources, but it is also supplied as another by-product, namely synthetic sodium sulphate, as a result of the processing of materials. Mostly, synthetically produced sodium sulphate leaves its own main production residues, albeit in very small amounts.

Areas of Use

  • It is a very important chemical substance used in the paper industry, especially in the production of cellulose and sodium sulphate, the most important ingredient of paper, by cooking fiber.
  • Detergent industry is the first preferred area of use of sodium sulphate. Because sodium sulphate is present in the form of a filler in the formula of solid detergents and powder granules. Sodium sulphate, which is generally present in detergents, is around 16%, but in some cases this ratio can be around 40%.
  • The glass industry, especially in the creation of glass material, plays the biggest role in sodium sulphate.
  • In textile dyeing, sodium sulphate mostly helps the dye to pass into the fabric completely homogeneously.
  • It is the most important chemical used in the cooking of fiber in the production of cellulose in the paper industry.
  • It is used in the detergent sector at a rate of 25%. Since it does not contain any toxic substances and its natural pH value is obtained, it is of great importance in this sector. It is used as a filler in the detergent sector.
  • It is used in the formation of glass frit in the glass industry. 3% sodium sulphate is consumed in glass production.
  • In textile dyeing, it ensures that the dye passes homogeneously onto the textile surface.
  • It is used in the chemical industry to obtain chemicals such as potassium sulfate, aluminum sulfate, sodium silicate, and sodium sulfide.
